Our opinion
The perfect option for beachside relaxation, with the added enticement of incredibly spacious, modern accommodation.
Hotel description
A resort that seeks to redefine luxury in Grenada, Silversands integrates guests in the local customs and immerses them in the beautiful landscapes. Just steps from the private decks of the residences is the famous Grand Anse Beach, a pristine stretch of white sand, surrounded by the tropical greenery and wildlife that makes the Caribbean’s Spice Island such a rich, desirable destination. Leading up to the sand, and seemingly almost merging with the sea beyond it, is a 100-metre-long swimming pool; the longest in the Caribbean. On either side, framing the views, are rows of palm trees, sun loungers, and parasols. In the hotel restaurant, which also boasts exceptional sea views, local food, including hand-caught seafood, takes centre-stage, bringing life to the island’s nickname: Spice Island. At the heart of the Silversands’ relaxing, luxury ethos is its spa, where expert health therapists administer treatments in light, breezy rooms, naturally lit, with light wood floors and blinds, marble wall features, and zen-inspired pebble installations. The separate spa pool is housed in a half-inside, half-outside room, and is surrounded by cushioned loungers, each beneath its own individual canopy, with water between them. Above, lamps hang from a wooden pagoda, through which you can see the sky. Most of the rooms at the resort are Suites, many of which offer the highest views available, with private balconies looking out to sea. Inside, the style remains very modern, with neutral colours, shiny surfaces, and just a touch of colour in the fabrics. The resort residences, however, are the crowning glory of this unique experience. In private villas either beside the sea or on the hillside, the residences offer sleek modern dining and living spaces, and spacious bedrooms, split over two levels. The private, walled outdoor space of each residence features a plunge pool, a dining sala, as well as grassy areas with cushioned loungers and parasols. Steps lined with flourishing plants take you down onto the main pathways around the resort, or straight down onto the beach. This large private garden enhances the feeling of exceptional luxury that is cultivated at the resort, ensuring that Silversands stands as a first-class destination for long stays in the Caribbean.
Silversands Grenada, in the words of its creator, Naguib Sawiris, seeks not to compete with the other luxury hotels of Grenada, but to offer something different, unique, that channels the standard of luxury renowned in St Barts and Barbados.

Out and aboutnearby/local interest
Grand Anse Beach is recognised as one of the world’s finest beaches; coated in fine white sand, with crystal clear waters, and accompanied by the charming local Grenadians. To the north, off the coast of St George’s, you will find the world’s largest underwater sculpture park, which is an excellent place for experienced scuba-divers to explore, as well as beginners. There is also a weekly Farmer’s Market in St George’s every Saturday morning. Inland, you can find such natural wonders as the Seven Sisters Falls. These waterfalls are reached by hiking up through rainforests, following the paths of the streams. The Grenada Chocolate Factory produces some of the world’s best organic chocolate. It is also worth taking a boat trip around the Tobago Cays Marine Park, potentially stopping off for a scuba-dive on your way, as this has the highest concentration of tropical fish anywhere around the island. Local businesses will offer kayak trips across to Hog Island.
