    Our opinion

At Huvafen Fushi, let soothing hands relax and revive in the world’s first underwater spa treatment rooms.

    Hotel description

The setting at Huvafen Fushi can only be described as idyllic; the cool, calm waters of the lagoon which surround the resort are brimming with sea life. The best way to view the many coloured fish is to indulge in a spa treatment at the Aquum Spa. The two underwater treatment rooms benefit from vast glass walls looking out into the ocean, to relax and soothe the mind. Many of the treatments sound good enough to eat, with names like the Exotic Lime and Ginger Glow, the Strawberry Herbal Back Cleanse and the Frangipani Body Nourish Wrap. The Huvafen Fushi resort offers a variety of accommodation to suit all tastes, located either on the beach or over the clear Maldivian waters and all are equipped with their own plunge or infinity pools. The newly refurbished rooms are luxuriously appointed with plasma screen televisions, air-conditioning, Frette bedlinen and oversized beds. The interiors have been decorated with designer furnishings in muted tones of cream, brown and terracotta to create a relaxing, elegant and uncluttered environment. Ocean Bungalows benefit from a stunning three-tier deck, freshwater infinity pool, dining area and sunbathing terrace. The underwater world can also be enjoyed in the lounge of the Ocean Bungalows with its glass floor to view the pristine waters below. Meals at Huvafen Fushi can be enjoyed in your bungalow for ultimate privacy or in any one of the restaurants. Nothing but the freshest products are used to produce the healthy, light and flavoursome dishes which are influenced by Vietnamese, Italian and Japanese cuisine as well as the local Maldivian culinary style. Laid-back breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served at Celsius Restaurant which enjoys a deck with views of the lagoon. Salt offers an evening, over-water dining experience and serves a selection of seafood. For those looking to purify their bodies both inside and out, Raw serves innovative and creative spa cuisine. Vinum is the stylish, underground wine cellar where the sommelier is available to select you a wine from the substantial collection. The resort can also organise a picnic lunch or an intimate meal for two on a secluded stretch of beach. Huvafen Fushi offers a super-luxurious experience in contemporary surroundings and is sure to become a firm favourite.

    Other information

LIME Spa is the world's first underwater spa and is influenced by the colours and textures of the sea. The focus of the spa is the rejuvenating qualities of water. The underwater treatment rooms reveal a panorama of fish and other sea life to soothe and relax the mind. The spa menu draws on the nutritious properties of natural seawater and beneficial plants and minerals.

Lime Spa uses Anne Sémonin products. A pioneer in combining trace elements and essential oils, whose synergy contributes to effective penetration and action, the Anne Sémonin brand has existed for over twenty years and was the precursor to the concept of made to measure beauty. “Because every skin is unique”, every Anne Sémonin programme is customised, creating perfect blends for optimum efficacy.

Visitors to the spa can also take advantage of ‘Degrees’, where you are guided though different areas from a hot sauna, to a soothing ice cold room. For true relaxation there is the Lonu Yeyo an outdoor salt water floatation pool or the over water yoga pavilion, while the fully-equipped gymnasium is located over the water with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean.

    Signature Treatments

LIME Light: Embrace the essence of the Maldives with indigenous island coconut, lime and mineral offerings that create the basis for this authentic
and holistic experience. A zesty foot ritual prepares for the steaming mineral poultices. Local virgin coconut oil massage completes and unifies one's natural self. Awaken during a melting application of Radiance Ice Cubes – leaving facial contours stimulated and the mind revived.

Turquoise Explosion: Lay back and absorb our addictive underwater surroundings whilst your scalp, neck and shoulders are massaged and soothed. An aromatic tension-releasing massage on the hands, legs and feet leaves you
floating. Allow yourself to drift away during a replenishing island teaser facial, designed to suit specific skin concerns.

Sole to Soul: A bespoke journey for the soul. Watch the ocean come to life during your tailor made experience. Alleviate tensions and encourage inner peace during a holistic fusion of Indian head massage, marma pressure point massage and foot reflex.
