Our opinion
The Due Torri in Verona is an elegant and characterful hotel of quality.
Hotel description
The rather elegant and grand Hotel Due Torri is centrally situated in Verona opposite the historic church of Sant’Anastasia. The hotel was rebuilt in 1958 on the site of an old hotel that had closed at the end of the 19th Century although originally dating from the 14th Century when it had been used by the ruling Scaligeri family as their guest house. During the 19th Century the hotel was host to a number of illustrious visitors, including the Emperor Franz Josef of Austria, Vittorio Emanuele II and Garibaldi. When the Due Torri Hotel was refurbished this century, it was to the style of the 19th Century that the designers turned and today the furniture of the hotel, particularly that of the bedrooms, reflects the various styles of the 19th Century being furnished with many pieces of authentic Veronese furniture. Today this style sits happily with comfortable modern bathrooms. The Due Torri Hotel has a comfortable, rather lived-in feel as well as being an historic and grand building. There is a restaurant, All’ Aquila, and a bar and lounge. It is the grandest hotel in Verona, and is highly recommended.
