Vinotherapy in France
The award-winning Les Sources de Caudalie was created as the world’s first vinotherapy spa and can be found in the heart of the Grand Cru vines of the Château Smith Haut Lafitte, in the Bordeaux region. Here you will discover exclusive treatments combining the soothing nature of hydrotherapy with the anti-oxidant properties of grapes.
Naturally heated spring water, rich in minerals and oligo-elements, is pumped from 540m below the ground. Grapes contain a high concentration of polyphenals which can be used to fight against ageing free radicals and to detoxify the body. The result is a selection of unique treatment programmes designed to relax, slim and rejuvenate. Each of the treatments uses the Caudalie range of products and are administered in individual stone and wood cabins, with views overlooking the vineyards. The spa treatment facilities are made up of a thermal bath with jet-stream, Turkish bath and comfortable rest areas where you can enjoy an organic herbal tea flavoured with the ubiquitous red wine.
Our favourite treatments include the invigorating Crushed Cabernet Scrub and the relaxing and bubbly Wine Barrel Bath.
In addition to being pampered in the Vinotherapy Spa, spoil yourself with fine vintage wines (from the 15,000 bottle cellar) and gourmet cuisine (low calorie options are available too). The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking and Bordeaux is only 10 miles away.
