Garden Tour Updates
New gardens and villas added to our Italian Garden Tour Holidays.
We are pleased to announce a number of interesting additions to our pre-existing garden tour itineraries, which we hope will keep them fresh and reflective of the true merit of the region they concern.
To our Tour of the Gardens and Villas of the Amalfi Coast
, we have added the private gardens of Ravino on the island of Ischia. The gardens at La Mortella were cultivated by Lady Walton, and seamlessly blend the fragrances and colours of exotic plants with those that are indigenous to the island. Ponds and water features emerge out of the tropical pathways, and the house itself possesses phenomenal sea views.
To our Tour of the Gardens and Villas of Tuscany
, we have added the Villa Garzoni. Famous for its Baroque terraces, magnificent staircases, and water cascades, the gardens seem to suggest a traditionally English design, but with an all-encompassing eccentricity. The staircases zig-zag up the terraces, with statues posed beneath them, and bright pinks and reds interrupt the expansive greens. Two symmetrical water fountains are a grand finale.
To our Tour of the Gardens and Villas of the Environs of Rome
, we have added the Papal Gardens. Perfectly manicured and impeccably designed, these gardens feature floral labyrinths, beautifully geometric topiary, and a focal coat of arms that has been grown outside the residence of the Pope. The palace itself stands elevated above the gardens, and above the city below.
