What's new?
If you’re looking to enjoy one of our holidays to the Caribbean, we have exciting news – the Hermitage Bay in Antigua has reopened this November after a series of changes! For 20 years, this fantastic hotel has guaranteed a luxury experience for its guests. Recently, it has been taken over by Luxury Hotel Partners which undertook a multi-million dollar renovation project. So, what’s changed?
When Travel Specialist Ed visited, he was shown the new beach club concept grill restaurant – a fresh addition to the tree and pool bar – where guests can try locally sourced seafood and craft cocktails. Available to adults only (this is not a hotel suitable for large families), the exclusive 30 villa suites have also been re-designed. Options available are:
1. 9 Beachfront Villa suites opening out onto the white sands, providing direct beach access.
2. 17 Hillside Pool Villa suites overlooking Hermitage Bay and tucked into beautiful gardens, these are popular with Honeymooners.
3. Garden Pool Villa suites with views over the ocean and split-level al-fresco living. The lighter colour scheme contributes to a deeply soothing atmosphere.
The hotel has also expanded its range of activities on offer. For example, there is now a 29ft and a 44ft speed boat, as well as a 109ft stay sail schooner. Thanks to these new additions, guests can choose from deep sea fishing trips, sailing in style, snorkelling in hidden coves or visits to the neighbouring island of Barbuda.
In recognition of these fresh changes, Hermitage Bay has now been added to the Luxury Hotels of the World, a list of 570 hotels in over 90 countries recognised for offering discrete and tailored experiences.
