Hotels chosen for families
Our holidays are based on hotels, usually 4 or 5 star or equivalent, that have been chosen because they are 'child friendly’ in various ways, often offering kids' clubs and accommodation for families. The hotels we have chosen here are not meant to be ‘holiday camps for families’ with cafeteria-style dining and shorts at dinner-time but are high quality properties which we believe will appeal to our discerning clients. Many of these hotels will also appeal to other markets too - it wouldn’t be unusual to find older couples and honeymooners at some hotels at the same time as families.
Suitable room types for families
We will provide information on which room types are best for your party composition, based on the ages of the children. Some hotels will allow only one child under 12 to share a room with two adults whilst others will allow up to three children under 12 to share with two adults in varying categories of room at varying degrees of cost.
Facilities and activities for all the family
We give you details of the facilities and activities at each hotel for all members of the family. We advise if there are children’s swimming pools, if there is a lifeguard or not, which restaurants children can dine in, children’s club arrangements, age restrictions on certain water sports for children, medical services, baby-sitting provisions. We also give you information about adult-oriented activities too such as spa treatments, water sports, tennis courts, golf courses and local excursions.
Best possible prices for families
Our pricing philosophy is quite simple; we aim to give you the best possible prices for your family group. To arrive at this, we will have to put together a tailor-made price for you. This will reflect the ages of your children, the type of accommodation you want and will take into account all the possible reductions the hotel gives us for family groups. As an indicator though, we have priced holidays in advance as examples only for two adults and two children under 12 in a variety of suitable room configurations. The ‘from’ or lead-in prices for high and low season are given on hotel pages as a guide only whilst the actual price for your holiday will be calculated by us for you. Please note: the indicator prices given here have not had any special offers applied to them nor have they had any relevant flights supplements added, depending on availability. Apply the relevant offers and the prices might come down. Also remember that prices will vary depending on the number and ages of children travelling. It is always best to contact us for a tailor-made quote.
Suitable travel arrangements for families
Our holidays will include appropriate transfer vehicles for families, either a car large enough to accommodate four or a self-drive vehicle that is a large one able to handle children and luggage for a family. Car seats for infants and children are not included but can be booked at many but not all destinations, (so you might want to consider bringing your own) at a small supplement. Even if we include a transfer for you from the airport to the hotel, you may want to have the use of a hire-car for a few days of your holiday - we can arrange this for you in advance.
Unrivalled information available
Just a cursory glance at the pages of our website will reveal nuggets of information about the hotel and services and facilities available for your family. This information has been put together specifically for your requirements and even where we might have worked with a certain hotel in another programme, this information has been gathered and tailored just for families. We have spent a great deal of time and effort in trying to get this right for you to ensure you have the best possible holiday.
Unique pre-booking service
We are very proud of what we think is a unique service for family holidays. Our aims are to go one step further than providing you with the detailed information we think is necessary anyway and to give you the opportunity to order up specific items, foods, drinks and services in advance. We know that a happier holiday will result when you know what you can take, what can be ordered in advance and what you might want to send. We provide a menu of services for you to complete and send back to us, so that we can make all the necessary arrangements with the hotel. Obviously, the list of possibilities will vary from hotel to hotel - some will be adept at supplying sterilising kits and changing mats, others will have arrangements to feed your child à la carte every day.

Countries of Europe
Austria has retained a penchant for indulgence, opulent aestheticism, and the cultivation of the higher pleasures in life. Visible in the rolling green pastures that cover the lands between the Alps, and in the grand architecture of the cities, this side to Austria still prevails. Inhabited since the Palaeolithic Age, Austria holds a wealth of dramatic and dynamic history within its fertile valleys.
Cyprus, seemingly marooned at the cross-roads of Europe and Asia, with one foot firmly planted in the west, and the other pointing towards Turkey and the Lebanon, is a curious – and utterly captivating – mix of the ancient and the new. Although Cyprus pays the price for its fabulous climate with some lively resorts, Aphrodite’s fabled birthplace offers ample reward for the adventurous.
The Czech Republic is perhaps personified by its capital, Prague, whose streets tell of magnificent dynasties, impressive battles, and a warm and welcoming culture that is ever-evolving. But this interest extends beyond the capital, into the towns and cities of the countryside, with their colourful buildings and majestic squares, and the Gothic castles that keep watch over the hillsides.
Despite the emerging innovation of the Czech Republic’s food scene and the modern, urban twist to the cities, this is a country that is firmly rooted in long-standing tradition and folklore.
Germany is a fascinating and richly varied country, with regional quirks and personalities a strong feature of German life, a hangover from the days, not too long ago, when the country was once a patchwork of independent states. Today, to travel from the ancient ports of the north, across the open fields of the German plain, and down through the Ruhr and onto the forests, mountains and cosmopolitan cities of Germany’s Bavarian south, you’ll experience an intriguing variety as great – and appealing – as you’d find anywhere else in Europe.
Greece, with 166 inhabited islands, a history spanning millennia of civilisation, distinctive and rustic cuisine often enjoyed al fresco with taverna-views out over the sea, as well as some of the most spectacular beaches in Europe, presents a fantastic holiday destination. Sum of an extraordinary diversity of parts, Greece has played host to countless empires, and the country today is fair littered with Roman ruins and Byzantine churches, Venetian fortresses and Frankish castles. Scattered far and wide across the Aegean and Ionian Seas, the difficulty with Greece is in deciding which bit to visit.
Hungary is situated right at the heart of Europe with a unique language and culture transplanted from Central Asia more than a thousand years ago. With its spectacular setting on the banks of the Danube and its enchanting Mitteleuropa vibe – coffee houses and Turkish baths, Habsburg splendours and baroque architecture – Budapest naturally attracts the bulk of visitors to Hungary.
Poland, over many centuries, has become a melting pot of cultures and religions, and witness to key moments in history. There are stories, both ancient and modern, to be told in every corner, from the Tatras mountaintops, to the Masurian lakes and the Bialowieza Forest. The main cities are clusters of monuments, museums, synagogues under faithful restoration, and impressive buildings that reflect Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and Art Nouveau architecture.
Portugal’s countryside bursts with pretty villages, glitters with historical treasures and World Heritage sites, as well as converted mediaeval monasteries, and elegant manor houses now hosting some of the finest hotels in Europe. Though Portugal’s spirit is undoubtedly rural, its big towns, Porto and Lisbon, are lively, magical places making full use of their waterside setting, with colourful waterside cafes and boutiques, leafy boulevards and old-fashioned trams still rattling through the streets. Dramatic scenery lies all along the coast from windswept cliffs with edge-of-the-world views to wild dune-covered beaches.
Slovenia is a country with a reputation that is being quickly shaped by its environmental priorities. Sublime lakes, lined with forested mountains, sit within driving distance of historic sub-Mediterranean coastlines. Castles and caves provide plenty to explore both above and below ground, and the spa and health resorts dotted around the country offer havens of relaxation that utilise the natural healing properties of the thermal waters.
Switzerland did not just pioneer tourism, it invented it. Visitors still flock to its mountains for fresh air and restorative mineral springs, to the small valley villages to witness the country's sublime natural landscape, and to the larger cities for a taste of the livelier culture, artistic heritage, and romantic historical sites. With a wonderful climate and spectacular glaciers and summits, the country today is every bit as beautiful and worth visiting as it was when interest began in the 1800s.
