Tuscan garden holiday for individuals

This is a fly-drive holiday for individuals, flying into and out of Pisa and including the use of a hire-car. You are based in two different locations in Tuscany: the first south of Florence in the Chianti region and the second in the historic city of Lucca. Both these areas are renowned for their gardens of historic importance in the development of landscapes and gardens in Europe since mediaeval times. In Chianti we recommend that you visit Villa Poggio Torselli, Villa Vignamaggio, Villa Geggiano and Badia a Coltibuono. There is also time to visit Siena and perhaps Florence. En route between the two areas you visit Villa Garzoni, famed for its Baroque balustraded terraces, staircases, water features and cascades. You then stay in the old town of Lucca and use the hire-car to visit a number of historic villas in the countryside just outside the city. These include the Villa Grabau and the Villa Oliva, the superb Parco Marlia Villa Reale and Villa Torrigiano. Prices start at £1,895 per person.
