Luxury bespoke holidays to Al Bustan Palace, Oman
The Al Bustan Palace re-opened as the InterContinental Al Bustan Palace in November 2008 after an immense refurbishment programme. It was always a popular destination before it closed and it has started to provide great levels of service, ambience and facilities once again. The grandiose building stands on the beachfront in about 200 acres of lush gardens, framed by the rugged backdrop of the Omani landscape, yet the centre of Muscat with its Souk, Palace, Bait Al Zubair Museum and Grand Mosque is only about five miles away. This grandiose feeling of the hotel has been retained yet all the bedrooms are furnished extremely comfortably with attention to detail. Rooms overlook the gardens, the mountains or the sea. Some have access to the Lagoon but these are not available for children. Inter-connecting rooms are available for families and children are very well catered for. The hotel has a range of facilities to complements it size and status and there is a choice of four restaurants to suit different moods and tastes; the Al Khiran Terrace serves Asian, French and Italian, China mood offers authentic dishes from the regions of China, Seblat Al Bustan serves traditional Omani flavours in the traditional surroundings of an outdoor Omani Bedouin village to the sounds of local music and the Beach Pavilion allows for light and healthy dining during the day with a more extensive A la Carte menu in the evenings. Day-times can be spent enjoying the range of sports facilities from the watersports on the one kilometre-long beach to tennis or just relaxing by the swimming pool. There is also a fitness centre. Muscat is within easy reach for shopping and visits.

Road signs are written in English, as well as in Arabic, so hiring a car is also an option; private taxis, often in 4x4 vehicles, are probably the most convenient option, with drivers also acting as guides.
