The Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis are a fantastic natural light display that is visible in the winter months in the northern regions of Norway and Sweden. Typically, you can see the northern lights from September until late March. In the north of Norway, it is dark from afternoon until late morning and the landscape and topography of the northern parts of Norway with its mountains, fjords and islands, makes the display particularly astonishing and beautiful. Generally you can see the lights best when the sky is clear and dark and usually between 11pm and 2am.
