Luxury bespoke holidays and tours to Edenhouse, Nelson

Set in 48 acres of private grounds, Edenhouse is a luxurious and comfortable country home established five years ago by the owners Peter and Bobbie Martin. Only six guests are accommodated at a time and this means a high level of personal attention and care can be taken by the owners. They returned to New Zealand after living in London for 18 years, where Bobbie had her own interior design business and she personally designed both Edenhouse and its gardens. Two bedroom suites are upstairs in the main house whilst the third is in its own cottage about 40 metres from the house. Meals feature fresh local produce and are served either in the formal dining room or the outdoor eating areas, with wine from three local award-winning vineyards. The house enjoys a beautiful setting with cattle and sheep grazing in the surrounding countryside and the view from the front of the house takes in Mount Crusader, which featured in the Lord of the Rings films. The landscaped gardens are perfect for relaxation and the garden spa is a wonderful unique feature.

For a holiday to Edenhouse in Orinoco Valley, Expressions Holidays includes flights from London to Auckland with Air New Zealand (flying time is 24 hrs). Auckland is served by a wide variety of international airlines and we can include other airlines in your holiday. The chosen airline will depend upon any stopovers you might want to make en-route to New Zealand. Edenhouse is usually included as part of a tailormade touring itinerary of New Zealand and you can reach the hotel by hire-car, or by flying to the nearest airport, Nelson, which is just 45-minutes away. From there you will require a hire-car to continue you itinerary.

About Nelson and Abel Tasman

An Expressions tailor-made holiday to Nelson and Abel Tasman encompasses a coastal and cultural region of New Zealand. This northernmost part of New Zealand's South Island is much favoured by visitors with its centre at Nelson, home to a multitude of painters, jewellers, potters, woodworkers and textile artists, its gently sloping vineyards, mild climate and outstandingly beautiful Abel Tasman National Park, accessible only by boat or on foot and full of miles of golden bays, rocky outcrops, lush, green interior. Behind Nelson rise the peaks of the tip of the Southern Alps and in between nestle the lakes of Rotoiti and Rotoroa. In this region, perhaps even more so than in other parts of New Zealand, you are very aware of the proximity of coast and mountains with fertile pastures, orchards and vineyards in between. Sheep rearing and fruit growing, fishing and mountain tramping all co-exist.
