Set in the delightful Riwaka Valley in 50 acres of bush, enjoy the tranquillity and scenery of a wilderness setting, without buildings or roads in sight, and with silence only broken by birdsong. In this romantic location sits The Resurgence, a luxury eco-lodge voted one of the top 25 in the world by National Geographic in 2013. Here, luxury is less to do with gold-plated taps, and material sumptuousness. Instead, guests will find luxury in the beautiful and homely style of the lodge, and in the tranquillity of the surroundings. The lodge style is similar in composition to that of a traditional Swiss chalet, where stunning woodwork and comfortable furnishings provide a certain cosiness to the environment. The best place to savour your accommodation, however, is by sitting outside on your private balcony or terrace, and simply immersing yourself into the rolling hills and the nearby Kahurangi National Park. Elsewhere, take a dip in the beautiful, bush fringed swimming pool, or in the cooler months retreat to the hot tub for an easy excuse to indulge your body and soul. Standard Room These entry level rooms feature a Queen Bed, an interesting angled ceiling, and an alcove sofa. Views are of the Kahurangi National Park, or a mixture of pool and bush.

Superior Room With more space, these rooms offer Queen or Super King beds, a sofa/armchair, a desk and a North facing orientation. Views are of the Kahurangi National Park, or a mixture of pool and bush.

Bush Chalet This stand-alone self-contained studio suite enjoys a Super King bed, a sofa, tables and chairs, as well as total privacy and wide views over the Kahurangi National Park from its two separate decks

Bush Lodge This stand-alone luxury self-contained suite is as spacious as it gets, and enjoys a separate lounge area with sofas, a gas fireplace, a dining table and chairs, and wide views from its very private deck. The Resurgence is usually included as part of a tailormade touring itinerary of New Zealand and you can reach the hotel by hire-car, or by flying to the nearest airport, Nelson, which is a 1-hour srive away. From there you will require a hire-car to continue you itinerary.

About Nelson and Abel Tasman

An Expressions tailor-made holiday to Nelson and Abel Tasman encompasses a coastal and cultural region of New Zealand. This northernmost part of New Zealand's South Island is much favoured by visitors with its centre at Nelson, home to a multitude of painters, jewellers, potters, woodworkers and textile artists, its gently sloping vineyards, mild climate and outstandingly beautiful Abel Tasman National Park, accessible only by boat or on foot and full of miles of golden bays, rocky outcrops, lush, green interior.
