Out and about nearby
The Shoalhaven has a wealth of natural treasures, but the bay area is the jewel in its crown with its clear and calm waters, amazing white sand beaches and pristine coastal bush landscapes. The area boasts three national parks, The Booderee National Park, Jervis Bay National Park and Jervis Bay Marine Park, as well as idyllic surrounding countryside. For land-lovers, this means many kilometres of walking trails, deserted beaches, and an incredible wild for a wide variety of native wildlife. Those willing to venture further afield may pay a visit to the nearby quaint country villages of Berry or Kangaroo Valley, or simply admire the magnificent views over the Shoalhaven from the vantage point of the dramatic Illawarra Escarpment. However, it is the crystal-clear waters of Jervis Bay that continue to entice Sydney-siders, and international tourists alike. Choose from snorkelling, scuba diving, sea kayaking, sailing, fishing and surfing. Another fantastic option is to hop on-board a wildlife cruise out in the bay in search of the most inquisitive mammals on the planet. A resident pod of over 100 dolphins, several seal colonies, and regular humpback whale sightings provide a once-in-a-lifetime foreground to the twinkling blue of the calm Pacific Ocean.

About New South Wales and Sydney
An Expressions tailor-made holiday to New South Wales and Sydney encompasses all of Australia’s diversity, with lush rainforests, isolated outback landscape and Alpine country, combined with rich Aborigine and European history. Sydney is a vibrant cosmopolitan city, with excellent beaches and culture. The land stretches out from the city to the mystical Blue Mountains, and beyond that to the wine country of the Hunter valley and the arid desert. Along the coast, resort towns utilise the golden sands and warm climate, but south of the city it is possible to find a little more seclusion in the more picturesque and less developed coastal towns.
Highlights of New South Wales and Sydney
Circular Quay for magnificent panoramas of the Sydney harbour, Experience Sydney’s beach culture at Bondi Beach, Wildlife and wilderness in the Blue Mountains, Yulefest in July in the Blue Mountains – complete with log fires and yuletide trimmings for a ‘traditional Christmas’, Skiing in the Snowy Mountains, Visit the outback and the beautiful Mutawintji National Park in the far northwest of the state, The unspoilt south coast and its fishing villages, Vineyard tours in the Hunter Valley.
