In an excellent position on Hobart's beautiful harbour, the hotel's use of rich colours and original features complement the vibrancy of the artwork, which amounts to over 250 pieces. The interior design blends together antique and modern styles to reflect the city's colonial past and trading history with China and India, and local materials have been beautifully used in the specially commissioned furniture. Many of the guestrooms benefit from the hotel's position with very close water and harbour views, whilst others overlook the exquisite glass Atrium. Furnished with natural timber, exotic silk bedcovers and ottomans, the rooms continue the sophisticated style seen throughout the hotel, and vibrant original art remains a prominent feature. The Steam Packet Restaurant reflects contemporary Australian cuisine, with a particular emphasis on fresh Tasmanian seafood.
