Luxury bespoke holidays to Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort, Mauritius
The Heritage Awali Golf and Spa Resort resides on a beautiful lagoon on Mauritius's south coast, close to the other Heritage resorts on the Domaine de Bel Ombre. The African influence is evident at the hotel. After being greeted to the hotel by the resounding beat of the tom tom drum, guests are escorted to their rooms passing by walls painted in warm ochre, deeply coloured woods, African and Madagascan furniture and objects of unusual originality. The 154 deluxe rooms and 5 suites at the Heritage Awali are decorated to reflect the theme of the hotel. Warm colours, straw fashioned lamp shades, oiled woods and great earthenware jars form the make-up of the rooms which in turn fold out onto their own private terrace or balcony. A choice of beachfront, ocean view and partly ocean view allow for all the Heritage Awali rooms to offer a glance across the Indian Ocean. The Balafon restaurant serves excellent breakfasts and dinners. For a more casual dining experience the Infinity Blue restaurant serves lunch on the beach to those who enjoy burrowing their toes in the sand. For elegant surroundings and Mauritian cuisine, the 19th century Le Chateau de Bel Ombre overlooks a French-style garden with views to the golf course and ocean. The Seven Colours spa, in amongst gorgeous gardens, is at the disposal of the guests, as is Heritage Golf Club . The Heritage Awali Golf and Spa Resort offers four swimming pools, one of which is a children's pool, as well as 300 metres worth of sparkling white beach and sea. About Mauritius
An Expressions tailor-made holiday to Mauritius gives travellers a true experience of paradise. Mauritius is a luxury holiday destination par excellence, with a superb concentration of outstanding hotels offering the highest possible standards of comfort and service. The island of Mauritius is very attractive with a lush, green interior and sugar cane fields alongside jagged mountain peaks. Along the coastline there are miles of soft white sand beaches lapped by calm, translucent, turquoise water, protected by a reef almost entirely around the whole island. The beaches of Mauritius are often the highlight of a luxury holiday here, fringed by casuarinas or coconut palms which sway against the deep blue of the sky and the turquoise of the sea. Poinsettia and bougainvillaea line the roads and hug the buildings. It is the people of Mauritius that make this island so very special and unique, living in a harmony that welcomes and pleases visitors. There is a fascinating mix of Indian, African, Chinese and European with religions being Hindu and Islam, Buddhist and Christian. This attractive mix of flavours is apparent in the local architecture and cuisine which makes a rich use of the local fruits and spices. Mauritius is a paradise of sea and sand with charming people, offering a perfect luxury holiday destination.
Highlights of Mauritius

Serious deep-sea fishing with some of the world's top fishing off Le Morne where blue marlin is caught. Walking along the defunct railway lines of Mauritius or hiking in the Domaine du Chasseur. Clothes, stamps, model ships and basket work are all things to buy.
