LUX* Grand Gaube, a luxury sister hotel to LUX* Belle Mare occupies an enviable position in a sandy cove in the northern part of Mauritius with views out across the lagoon in front of the hotel to islets with names such as 'Gunners' Point', 'Flat Island' and 'Sugar Loaf'. The bedrooms occupy the ground floor and two upper storeys set alongside the beach, away from the main building which houses the reception area and the main restaurant. The decoration is discreet and tasteful and one of the prime objectives in its conception was to be in harmony with its natural environment, according to the feng shui principles that guide the design and furnishings throughout the hotel. Each room type reflects an element - metal, water, wood, earth or fire - whilst the Presidential Villa reflects all five feng shui elements. Superior rooms interconnect and all rooms and suites have open-plan bathrooms with large bathtubs. The hotel is ideally suited to leisure pursuits with a good range of water and land sports, including a Thalasso Spa which features a seawater pool, a high-tech gym and t'ai chi courses. Grand Gaube has five restaurants to cater for different tastes, from the breakfast buffet served in Ginkgo to La Bastide mediterranean restaurant, the seafood restaurant Abalone or the Karma House, the hotel's culinary flagship, which serves a fusion of French and Asian cuisine. The plush Spirit Bar and Lounge is perfect for a quiet drink before dinner. A cinema screens new feature films free of charge. The kids' club organises games and activities for 3 to 11 year olds from 8.30am until 10pm. There is also a club room for teenagers with internet connection, video games and table tennis. It is possible to upgrade to full board or all inclusive depending on your preference. There is also a vitality package including a healthy eating class, spa treatments, fitness sessions and yoga. All in all, LUX* Grand Gaube offers excellent standards of accommodation and facilities for couples and families.

Lux* Grand Gaube is about 1 hour and 15 minutes by car from the airport and Expressions Holidays will arrange a private car transfer.
