The journey and how you get there
For a holiday to Lux* Maldives, the Maldives, Expressions Holidays includes flights from London to Male with British Airways direct (winter season only) or Emirates via Dubai. The flying time is about 13 hours. Lux* Maldives is reached from Male airport by seaplane in about 25 minutes and Expressions Holidays includes the seaplane transfer in your holiday price.

Highlights of the Maldives

Children's clubs
PLAY is open from 9am to 7pm and is available for children aged 3 to 12. A range of activities from pizza making to Sting Ray feeding are adapted to suit different age groups. Lunch and/or dinner can be served in the children's club at an additional cost. The children's club facilities include a TV and cinema lounge, library and computer room, siesta lounge, a play area, a nanny station, customized bathroom facilities, and a dining area with buffet. The club is complimentary.Teenagers' club STUDIO17 is open from 9am to 7pm for teenagers aged from 12 to 17 years and encourages teenagers to relax in one place and socialise with each other. Facilities on offer are a Wii and Wi-Fi station, PlayStation, table football, pool table and table tennis. The club is complimentary.
Babysitting
Available at a charge. Rates available per hour and in 6 or 12 hour packages. Staff are trained in first aid and there is a staff to child ratio of 1:2 at all times. Baby listening is not available.

Children's entertainment
Aside from the children's clubs there are children's DVDs and books. The spa, Lux Me, offers half or full hour kids massages. Excursions with the Marine Biology Centre which centre runs a reef encounter with a marine biologist course where you learn about different species and snorkel for around USD 50 per person. There are a number of other courses offered at the Marine Biology Centre geared towards adults which older families may enjoy including snorkelling with whale sharks, underwater night discoveries and presentations.

There is an infirmary on the island with a resident doctor. The nearest hospital is in Malé.
Family dining
Families are allowed in all of the restaurants at present. High chairs and family menus and options are available.
Family rooms
Two adults and two children can be accommodated in Beach villas. For more space, families may prefer to take 2 interconnecting Beach Pavilions or a Family Water Villa which can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 children. Parents must sign a disclaimer to occupy a water villa, which can hold 2 adults and 1 child.
Children's amenities
Children's toiletries are provided. Haircuts available at a charge.
