Luxury bespoke holidays to The Residence, Mauritius
The Residence Mauritius is a striking five-star hotel occupying a position on a glorious stretch of white sand beach on the east coast of the island. Its atmosphere is relaxed and calm, stylish and sophisticated, and enhanced by the magnificent reception area, tall and white yet with an oriental feel created by huge Indian wooden wall carvings and splashes of colour from the numerous plants. From the cool whites of the building you can see through to the brilliant turquoise of the sea beyond the gardens. The bedrooms at The Residence Mauritius are all very spacious and decorated in an understated, contemporary way, elegant and with high-quality furniture, light in colour and discreet with natural fabrics. Large bathrooms are filled with exquisite toiletries and orchids and other flowers are ever present in every room. All rooms face the sea; those classified as garden view face it from a sidelong angle. The beach is an outstanding feature of The Residence Mauritius, a kilometre long and of fine white sand flanked by a reef-protected turquoise sea. At lunchtimes you can wander the length of the beach or wind your way through the palms of the garden to the Plantation restaurant, built in the style of a traditional Mauritian plantation house and serving superb seafood and Creole cuisine under the filao trees. Alternatively head for the main building and enjoy the à la carte lunch in The Verandah restaurant around the pool overlooking the sea. This is also the place for a refreshing homemade ice cream or sorbet at the end of the afternoon. Dinner can be enjoyed in the refined but relaxed ambience of the Dining Room, where local produce is imaginatively used with distinct Indian, Chinese and Creole accents. A very special feature of the Residence Mauritius is the Sanctuary, more than just a beauty centre: taking its inspiration from zen philosophy, it offers treatments for body and soul using La Prairie products. The gently soothing aromas that greet you and exotic furnishings with spice coloured drapes and curtains induce a sense of rest and wellbeing. A range of services including yoga, meditation and massage are offered. The Residence Mauriutius is also a great location for the range of water sports offered from the Yacht Club at the far end of the beach. The Residence Mauritius is an excellent hotel with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere, offering stylish accommodation and a wonderful range of leisure facilities and activities. Our clients continue to report back very favourably about their stays at the Residence Mauritius, and it comes highly recommended.

About Mauritius
An Expressions tailor-made holiday to Mauritius gives travellers a true experience of paradise. Mauritius is a luxury holiday destination par excellence, with a superb concentration of outstanding hotels offering the highest possible standards of comfort and service. The island of Mauritius is very attractive with a lush, green interior and sugar cane fields alongside jagged mountain peaks. Along the coastline there are miles of soft white sand beaches lapped by calm, translucent, turquoise water, protected by a reef almost entirely around the whole island. The beaches of Mauritius are often the highlight of a luxury holiday here, fringed by casuarinas or coconut palms which sway against the deep blue of the sky and the turquoise of the sea. Poinsettia and bougainvillaea line the roads and hug the buildings. It is the people of Mauritius that make this island so very special and unique, living in a harmony that welcomes and pleases visitors. There is a fascinating mix of Indian, African, Chinese and European with religions being Hindu and Islam, Buddhist and Christian. This attractive mix of flavours is apparent in the local architecture and cuisine which makes a rich use of the local fruits and spices. Mauritius is a paradise of sea and sand with charming people, offering a perfect luxury holiday destination.
