Out and about nearby
Port Louis is the capital of Mauritius, and is constantly buzzing with cosmopolitan life and culture. The central market is the focal point for many visitors due to the vibrant experience it offers. Alternatively, visit the historic Champ de Mars, the Place d'Armes, the Statue of Mahe de la Bourdonnais, the Government House, Aapravasi Ghat, the Caudan Waterfront, and, of course, Fort Adelaide. In the north of the island, visit the stunning beachfront and quaint streets of Grand Bay, the picturesque village of Cap Malheureux, and the tropical plants at Les Vergers of Labourdonnais at Mapou and the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden. For stunning seascapes and water sports, head to Ile aux Cerfs, home to extensive sandy beaches and a tortoise farm. Mahebourg is one of the main fishing villages on the island, home to the National History Museum and Cavendish Bridge, and was the site of the only Napoleonic naval victory over the English in 1810. For exceptionally calm waters, head to the west of the island. Swim in the waters beside the lighthouse in Albion, relax on the beach at Flic en Flac, or visit the villages of Tamarin and Black River. For cultural, historic towns, head inland towards Rose Hill, Quatre Bornes, and the Trou aux Cerfs volcano. Paradise Cove offers excursions to Cap Malheureux, the nearby Endemic Gardens, Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens, and cycling tours, as well as a range of speedboat, yacht, and other boat cruises to nearby destinations.

About Mauritius
An Expressions tailor-made holiday to Mauritius gives travellers a true experience of paradise. Mauritius is a luxury holiday destination par excellence, with a superb concentration of outstanding hotels offering the highest possible standards of comfort and service. The island of Mauritius is very attractive with a lush, green interior and sugar cane fields alongside jagged mountain peaks. Along the coastline there are miles of soft white sand beaches lapped by calm, translucent, turquoise water, protected by a reef almost entirely around the whole island. The beaches of Mauritius are often the highlight of a luxury holiday here, fringed by casuarinas or coconut palms which sway against the deep blue of the sky and the turquoise of the sea. Poinsettia and bougainvillaea line the roads and hug the buildings. It is the people of Mauritius that make this island so very special and unique, living in a harmony that welcomes and pleases visitors. There is a fascinating mix of Indian, African, Chinese and European with religions being Hindu and Islam, Buddhist and Christian. This attractive mix of flavours is apparent in the local architecture and cuisine which makes a rich use of the local fruits and spices. Mauritius is a paradise of sea and sand with charming people, offering a perfect luxury holiday destination.
