Cookery and wine holiday with 4 nights in Provence at the Chateau de Berne including cookery lesson with lunch and a vineyard visit
Start your holiday with a flight to Nice with British Airways or from your regional airport if preferred and available. Collect your hire-car at the airport and then drive to your hotel in Provence which will be your base for four nights.
You have three days to relax at the hotel and with time to explore the region. During your stay on a predetermined date, you will have a cookery lesson at the hotel. The Chateau de Berne will introduce you to a traditional, region cuisine in surroundings worth of the great French bourgeois houses with a kitchen of glazed tiles, gleaming copper, polished wood and stone. The cookery lessons at the hotel have to take place on Thursdays at 10 am and are followed by a tasting of your own dishes and accompanied by wines from the estate. Menus are based on the inspiration of the chef and the produce from the estate’s kitchen garden. You should work your stay around this day of the week. You also have a two-hour vineyard visit with a wine-tasting on a pre-arranged day. For the rest of your time at the Chateau de Berne, make the most of the leisure facilities which include 100 kms of footpaths around the estate, mountain bikes, fitness room and Cinq Mondes spa with indoor pool. Experience a beauty treatment with vinotherapy skincare products. In addition to trying your own hand at cookery, savour the gastronomy at your disposal in the restaurants, Le Jardin de Berne and the Bistrot. In the surrounding area you have a staggering choice of natural sites such as the Gorges du Verdon or the cave dwellings of Cotignac, and cultural sites such as Lorgues and Tourtour. The coast at Fréjus is less than an hour’s drive away.
Today, depending on the time of your flight, check-out after breakfast and make your way back to Nice airport. Drop off your car at the airport before taking your flight back to the UK.

About Provence
An Expressions tailor-made holiday to Provence, the land which is the ancient province of the Romans, offers a rich tapestry of landscapes, culture and traditions. From the sunflower fields of Van Gogh`s Arles, to the sandy marshes of the Camargue, from the Cezanne like landscapes of Aix inland to the olive groves and lavender beds that surround the perched hill top villages, and finally to the dramatic coastline of the azure Mediterranean where the sandy beaches, craggy corniches and fishing villages have been transformed into a sophisticated holiday playground you experience a multitude of contrasting and complementary senses and images.
