Luxury bespoke holidays and tours to Hotel Jules Cesar, Arles
The Hôtel Jules César is a five-star boutique property just outside the city of Arles in Provence, that prides itself on its welcoming and sophisticated ambience. The exterior, with its lower-floor columns, architrave, and wide steps, reflects the Roman implications of the hotel's name. The golden-stone walls are atmospherically lit up in the evenings, which adds to the charm of the surroundings. To the left of the front door, as you approach, is a beautiful carving adorned with Latin text. As you enter, however, this historic style is merged with bold modern colours, striking design, and a touch of contemporary grandeur. Bright feature walls appear in every room, accompanied by traditional dark wood furnishings, as well as colourful chairs and white-clothed tables in the dining room. In the Lou Marqués Restaurant, named after Marquis Folco de Baroncelli-Javon, you can enjoy three meals a day, each wholly inspired by French ingredients, flavours, and cuisine. The menu reflects the changing seasonal produce in and around Provence. During the summer months, it is also possible to dine on the picturesque terrace. Another excellent feature of the hotel is the Spa Cinq Mondes, where classic and innovative treatments from around the world have been compiled into luxurious wellness programmes. The treatment rooms feature the same bold colours as the rest of the hotel, but with designs, wall murals, and paintings that evoke the Roman heritage of Arles. Finally, you come to your room. Every guestroom is completely unique, each with a new pattern, colour palette, and driving design focus. In some, textured wallpaper covers the wall behind the headboard; in others, a striking piece of antique furniture will break up an otherwise sleek, modern room. In many, a bold piece of artwork will add character; but, in all the rooms, the views out the windows offer a new perspective on the city of Arles or the floral courtyards and outdoor pool of the hotel grounds. In the Junior Suites, the individual style of the hotel's designer, Christian Lacroix, really comes into its own, making the most of the original features. The Hôtel Jules César is a hotel of truly unique style and charm, that remains totally in-keeping with the main attraction of this part of Provence: the ancient city of Arles.

The journey and how you get there
For a holiday to the Hotel Jules Cesar, our clients fly to Marseille or Nice and then usually have the use of a hire-car for the duration of the holiday, or they arrive in their own car on a self-drive holiday, often as part of a multi-centre touring holiday (we would include a Eurotunnel crossing or a ferry crossing, depending on the itinerary), or they arrive by train, having taken the Eurostar London to Paris or Lille, and then the TGV to Avignon, Aix-en-Provence or Nice. On some dates there is a direct service of the Eurostar from London to Avignon. From the railway station, if you are visiting more than one hotel or want to explore the region, we recommend having a hire-car. We will arrange this for you.
