Luxury bespoke holidays to Relais de Chambord, Loire Valley
The Relais de Chambord, a 4-star hotel with 55 rooms, created in 2018 occupies a privileged and unique position inside the private estate of the Renaissance Chateau de Chambord, intended to be a hunting lodge yet developed into the largest castle in the Loire Valley. The building now occupied by the Relais de Chambord was designed as the King’s stable. The contemporary hotel that dates from 2018 was fashioned with the utmost respect for the unique architecture of the building and the very special environment. The hotel offers 55 rooms, full of natural light, each unique but proud of the velvet, wood and ceramic combinations on show as well as designer lamps. Features of the chateau’s architecture and its grounds have been incorporated into the artwork within each room. Some rooms have views of the chateau, others have views of the park or the River Cosson. There are contemporary elements and flashes of colour in the armchairs or throws on the beds. There is a restaurant, Le Grand Saint-Michel, with views of the chateau and landscape that you enjoy whilst dining. Lunch and dinner are served here and it is highly recommended to make a reservation in advance. Chef Rita Silva serves carefully created dishes based on produce sourced from local farmers and from the vegetable garden of Chambord. A short walk from the hotel in the Place Saint Louis is the hotel’s brasserie, called Les Armes du Chateau. This offers more simple dishes and light meals but also accompanied by views of the chateau from inside and from the terrace. There is also a bar at the hotel, with welcoming fireplace in cooler weather, and a terrace for warmer days. Enjoy a cocktail or aperitif here or just afternoon tea whilst resting after a day’s sightseeing. Snacks are also served here. The Relais de Chambord has designed a range of experiences for you to enjoy during your stay; book a picnic to enjoy in the chateau grounds; spa treatments and entrance to the chateau; visits of the three castles of Chambord, Blois and Cheverny; Sunday brunch one Sunday a month except in July and August – book in advance.
