About a 45 minute drive away, the Gorges du Verdon provides not only beautiful scenery but also an opportunity to go canyoning, rafting, and canoeing, or to make use of the pedal boats, paddle boats, and electric boats. For other scenic views, guests can also visit the Lac de Saints-Croix, the third largest lake in France. Furthermore, there is the Sillans-la-Cascade, with its 42 metre high waterfall, plus many hikes and walks to go on, such as at The Verdon Regional Nature Park and the Sentier de l’Imbut. For a greater exploration of local culture, there are also many Provencal villages to visit, such as Tourtour, Villecroze, Bauduen, Cotignac, and more. Moreover, truffles are in ample supply in Aups and Maison de la truffle. Olive trees surround the Chateau de Taurenne, and the family estate of La Tulliere is known for its jams (offering 50 varieties).
