Luxury hotel holiday La Pinede Plage La Croix-Valmer

This 4-star boutique hotel enjoys a privileged position right on Gigaro beach on the Saint-Tropez peninsula, about 25 minutes by car from the resort of Saint-Tropez. The building is low and nestles amongst the pine trees. Having belonged to the same family for over 60 years, the hotel has been lovingly created and refurbished over the years from its modest beginnings as beach bungalows on the estate of Chateau de Valmer, also still under the same ownership and a walk of just 500 metres away. Over the years since 1952 what were two modest beach bungalows have been transformed into a Mediterranean-style, 4-star hotel with 32 rooms of various sizes, which accommodate happily couples and families. Almost all rooms have balcony or terrace, and some face the sea. The decoration of all rooms is similar with the atmosphere being contemporary, chic and minimalist where fabrics and furniture create a seaside spirit reflecting the colours of the Mediterranean. Today there is a chic but simple bar and restaurant on the beach, and nearby a heated, outdoor swimming pool with views over the sandy beach and blue sea beyond. Lunch at la Pinède’s beachside restaurant offers dining in the shade of the pine trees or in the sunshine and a range of locally caught fish, grilled meats, fresh salads and produce from the hotel’s estate. Dinner is served under the stars to candelight on the teak terrace facing the Iles d’Or. There is also a tennis court and water sports on site including kayaks, pedalos and paddle boards. Bikes are available for hire and there is also a pétanque field. If you want to visit the sister hotel, the Chateau de Valmer, for its spa, indoor pool and gym, there is a free shuttle between the two hotels. This 4-star hotel reflects the traditional charm and simplicity of beachside summer living that first attracted so many people to these shores.
