Luxury bespoke holidays and tours to Hotel Anne de Bretagne, Brittany
With a harbour-front plot in La Plaine-sur-Mer in Brittany, the four-star Hôtel Anne de Bretagne is a seaside villa with true coastal charm. This is a Relais & Châteaux property with an intimate atmosphere that has been carefully crafted as the labour of love between husband and wife, chef and sommelier duo Michèle and Philippe Vételé. The white-washed wooden structure is the first hint of a carefree modern marine style that is consistent throughout the property, as inspired by views of La Gravette port. This influence continues into the 20 guestrooms, which are effervescent in their brightness. Pristine white walls, curtains and bed linens are contrasted by statement furnishings - predominantly modern art-style armchairs of vivid colours. Vast windows open onto terraces and balconies with views of the gardens and the heated swimming pool, or across the harbour: slide open your patio door and allow your room to be filled with the wash of the sea and the gentle clanging of the rocking masts. Dubbed a 'Hotel-Restaurant' by its owners, Hotel Anne de Bretagne balances its service marvellously to treat guests of each with equal import. Recognition of this comes in the form of not one but two Michelin stars at the restaurant, which serves an appetising menu of fresh, inventive cuisine that inevitably features locally-sourced seafood such as wild clams and oysters, accompanied by individually-selected wines from Michèle Vételé's 20,000-bottle collection. The contemporary setting of the dining room is mirrored in the minimalism of the food's presentation, making the experience an artful, sensory one. On fine days, you are even invited to dine amid the flowers and the gentle seaside sounds of the sun-emblazoned terrace.

About Brittany
An Expressions tailor-made holiday to Brittany is a chance to explore this extreme western part of France, which has been known as the Land of the Sea as wherever you are in Brittany it is never very far away. The sea continues to influence the way of life in Brittany as it has done for centuries and provides much of the charm and magnetism for the visitor with dramatic sunsets over the ocean, the excellent diet of fresh fish, breath-taking seascapes and authentic fishing harbours. There are both rugged cliffs and sheltered coves on the northern coast of Brittany where sea and land seem to merge into one as you pass around headlands and inlets and islands appear in the sea in the distance. On the southern coast of Brittany miles of soft sandy beaches are the right ingredients for a family beach holiday and mediaeval fortified towns are perfect sightseeing centres. Our selection of luxury hotels in Brittany are all located close to the sea with panoramic views of beautiful coastal scenery. Brittany is perfectly located for a self-drive touring holiday due to its location in northern France. Enjoy a holiday exploring Brittany's coastal scenery or incorporate a stay in the region into a longer holiday in a different part of the country.
