Out and about nearby
Provence is a region known for its lavender and sunflower fields; examples of which are just a short distance from Capelongue. One of the finest examples of Provencal lavender is in the fields around the Abbaye de Sénanque, which dates back to 1148. During the lavender harvest, travel out to Sault to enjoy the festival. Perhaps also take a day trip into Arles, which inspired the likes of Van Gogh and Cezanne, to Aix-en-Provence, or to the chic resorts of Nice and Marseilles. The villages of Gordes and Bories provide a peaceful alternative, with golden-stone houses, winding streets, and a very traditional air.
Sports nearby
Golf, tennis, walking, hiking, and cycling.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for organising our honeymoon at such short notice. We would have been completely stuck without the help you gave us and it enabled us to have a lovely time away. We particularly loved the Capelounge and will have to consider returning there at some point.Mr W, Oct, 2021

Luxury bespoke holidays and tours to Domaine de Capelongue, Luberon
The boutique hotel Capelongue in Bonnieux, Provence, is a family-run hotel with just 37 rooms. Edouard, Isabelle, and Claude Loubet welcome you into their home-from-home hotel in Provence, where every effort is made to establish a serene and comfortable environment for soaking up the enticing Provençal lifestyle. The exterior follows the traditional style of Provençal houses, with dry-stone walls, terracotta-tiled roofs, and plenty of tall trees and flowers. A large landscaped park stretches out to the boundary of the hotel grounds, complete with vegetable garden, fruit trees, and a botanical garden. Looking out onto the Luberon, panoramic arched windows line the walls of the lower floor, where the restaurants are held. The guestrooms, however, occupy La Bastide, where the atmosphere is even cosier. Bright, neutral colours keep the rooms fresh, with a touch of contemporary style. The floors are still cool terracotta, and white-stained wood frames the comfortable beds. Charming touches, such as the floral wall lights, textured bed throws, and classic armchairs create a feel that is very 'French' and summery. Higher category rooms introduce more space and lavish dark wood furnishings. The views from all of the rooms look over the park, the Luberon, or the swimming pool. The panoramic pool is the perfect place to refresh in the morning, or take in the views in the evenings. Spa Tulsi also offers guests the opportunity to relax and choose from the wide range of rejuvenating treatments, hammam or the jacuzzi. The hotel's main restaurant, the Gourmet Restaurant Edouard Loubet, is run by the eponymous double-Michelin-starred chef. Under the vaulted ceiling and exposed beams of the dining room, looking out over the beautiful rural views below, guests dine on food that has been crafted so as to please all the senses, with vegetables and herbs taken from the hotel's own gardens. This is accompanied by wine from a cellar stocked with famous labels as well as that from smaller local producers. At La Bergerie Restaurant, you are secluded from the rest of the hotel by orchards, lavender fields, and manicured gardens. On the terrace, enjoy lunch, dinner, or a light snack with a drink. With the Luberon so close by, guests of Capelongue are able to explore the nearby towns and villages at leisure, and then retreat to this private luxury hotel to relax in the evenings.

For a holiday to Capelongue, our clients fly to Marseille or Nice and then usually have the use of a hire-car for the duration of the holiday, or they arrive in their own car on a self-drive holiday, often as part of a multi-centre touring holiday (we would include a Eurotunnel crossing or a ferry crossing, depending on the itinerary), or they arrive by train, having taken the Eurostar London to Paris or Lille, and then the TGV to Avignon, Aix-en-Provence or Nice. On some dates there is a direct service of the Eurostar from London to Avignon.
